About St. Mary's CE
Primary School

Welcome to our school

St Mary’s C.E. Primary School is a thriving and successful primary school situated in Platt Bridge, Wigan. Our annual intake of 45 children comes from the surrounding areas of Platt Bridge, Spring View, Lower Ince, Abram and Hindley. We moved into our new school building in April 2015 though the school has existed for over 100 years.

St Mary’s is a very friendly school with a family ethos. We have an open door policy and are an extremely approachable team. Our talented staff are deeply committed to providing a high quality education and support system for our community. Excellent teachers and teaching assistants provide an interesting and exciting yet challenging curriculum in a safe, warm secure and caring environment.

As a church school, we have a strong relationship with St Nathaniel’s church. Our worship is values driven and helps our children to see the relevance of the bible and teachings of Jesus in their daily, modern lives. We are very lucky to be supported by Rev’d Rachel Sheehan and Rev’d Stan Higginson who deliver worship regularly and provide confirmation classes to our Year 6 pupils.

I look forward to meeting you
